JD Sullivan was born in North Carolina and raised in Texas. He moved to Knoxville in 1993 to attend the University of Tennessee. After earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology, JD worked in retail and then for a small office equipment company. In 1999, with his friend and colleague Bob Lovelace, formed Image Matters. He is a passionate supporter of local philanthropy, and serves as a board member of  Volunteer Ministry Center. JD and the Sullivan Family are active members of the Halls and Webb School community.

Bob Lovelace is a lifelong resident of Knoxville. He graduated from Farragut High School in 1981. After several years in retail, he worked at a local office equipment dealership where he was named vice president. In 1999, Bob and JD Sullivan opened Image Matters as the only employees. Today, they employ over 30 sales and service professionals.
